About Us

Welcome to Whispering Pines Cottages on the River featured in John Fielder's "Best of Colorado" guidebook. Our historic, rustic cottages are located at the base of pine-covered Mount Olympus and feature exclusive streamside fishing in the Big Thompson River.

We offer comfortable and affordable family accomodations just minutes from the activities and scenic beauty of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Our goals are to ensure that each cottage is exceptionally clean and that every guest has the best Colorado vacation possible. About the Cottages

We offer one and two bedroom cottages with kitchen facilities. All rooms are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted outside away from any open windows. No pets are allowed. Equipped kitchen facilities include dishes, utensils, glassware, pots and pans, coffee makers, toasters and microwave ovens. Only cottage #16 has an oven for baking. The others have a two burner cooktop.

There is a charcoal grill at each cottage as well as two gas grills available for everyone's use. Each cottage has a private bathroom. Only cottages #12 and #16 have bathtubs. All bed linens and towels are provided.

Duplex cottage, each side has two bedrooms and one bath - one double bed and two twin beds in each cottage, bathrooms with showers, kitchenettes, about 100 feet from the river, chairs and campfire pits available for your use along the river’s edge, four people maximum per cottage.

CHECK IN : 2:00 P.M.
CHECK OUT : 10:00 A.M.
If you will be arriving after 9:00 p.m. please call our office IN ADVANCE to make the necessary arrangements.

Deposit Policy

A deposit of the first & last night's lodging (per cottage) is required to confirm a reservation. Advance deposits may be made by check money order, or by providing the number of a valid Visa, Master card or Discover card. Your card will be charged. Full payment is required UPON ARRIVAL. Personal checks may be used for advance deposits only.

Cancellation Policy

A refund of your deposit less a $25.00 handling fee per cottage is guaranteed if reservations are cancelled 30 days prior to arrival. There is a 60-day notice or groups renting more than 2 cottages. On cancellations with shorter notice, deposits will be refunded (less handling fees) only if we are able to re-rent the cottage for the entire length of your reservation. You will pay for any nights the cottage sits empty. There is no refund for unused accommodations due to late arrival or early departure, therefore, we appreciate knowing well in advance (at least 3 weeks before arrival date) any changes in your vacation plans. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FULL NUMBER OF NIGHTS YOU RESERVE.

Minimum Stay Policy

MINIMUM STAYS: We do not have a minimum night stay policy except for the following: All cottages - 2 night minimum for holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day) and Scottish Festival.

Pet Policy

Sorry, no pets of any kind are allowed.

Maid Service

We do provide a daily maid service. We will clean bathrooms, sweep/vacuum floors, restock towels and take out the trash daily. To conserve water we DO NOT provide sheet changes for stays of 7 nights or fewer. Stays of 8 nights or more receive one sheet change mid-stay if requested. Guests are responsible for washing all dishes used during their stay. Please leave the kitchen (and cottage in general) as clean as you found it. If dirty dishes or a damaged cottage are left upon departure, a $50.00 charge (or more depending on damages) will be added to your bill.
